Social Inclusion Workshop, Brazzaville, Republic of Congo - May 12-16, 2014
During the week of May 12-16, 2014, in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, the FCPF hosted a "Capacity Building for Social Inclusion" regional workshop for REDD+ countries in Francophone Africa. The regional workshop focused on three interrelated aspects of social inclusion in the REDD+ Readiness process:
- Strategic Environment and Social Assessment (SESA) and the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF);
- consultation, participation, and communication (C&P) dynamics, and;
- grievance mechanisms.
The main purpose of this workshop was to address gaps in knowledge and understanding that still exist in relation to relevant aspects of the chosen themes. The workshop was a very participatory and hands-on event, allowing participants to interact, analyze, share and learn about the various themes and determine where they stand in the Readiness process in relation to them.
