In response to a growing interest by the private sector and NGOs, the Government of Mozambique organized a workshop with the support of the World Bank and WWF on May 2-4, 2012 to discuss the legal framework for implementing REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) in the country. Also invited to the meeting were the Democratic Republic of Congo and Brazil, countries who have experienced this process and who shared their lessons learned.
