Development of Carbon Fund Methodological Framework

The REDD+ Design Forums are a series of participatory expert workshops aimed to inform the development of the Methodological Framework of the FCPF Carbon Fund. They are being held in Washington, D.C. in 2013. The main points and outputs of the discussions are intended to help the FCPF Secretariat and the Working Group on the Carbon Fund Methodological Framework to integrate key issues in the Methodological Framework.

The Methodological Framework will provide technical and programmatic guidance to countries preparing a REDD+ Emissions Reduction Program (ERP) for inclusion in the Carbon Fund pipeline and portfolio.

The main points from the REDD+ Design Forums are captured in the below summaries. Note that the summaries are not intended to be a comprehensive representation of all views expressed. Rather, the summaries focus on the concrete feedback, inputs, and views that relate specifically to drafting the Methodological Framework of the Carbon Fund.

Summary

To provide a basis for the discussions at the REDD+ Design Forums, a number of issues papers were drafted to inform the development of the Carbon Fund's Methodological Framework. In addition, any organization or individual was invited to submit short submissions to offer their vews on how the FCPF Carbon Fund could best address a given issue in developing its Methodological Framwork.
